Challenges

In line with its ambition to provide ‘legendary customer care’, this retailer asked us to develop a new online recruitment process to select the very best candidates for its Customer Assistant roles. The new recruitment process would need to robustly assist with shortlisting candidates from very high volumes.

It was crucial we developed an approach that offers an engaging experience to maintain candidate interest, supports the client’s brand values, and presents a detailed preview of the role. We were also required to create an overall candidate ‘fit’ score to assist the shortlisting process and supply reporting features to support Hiring Managers with feedback for each candidate.

Solutions

The Cubiks team designed a recruitment process that focuses on customer care and showcases the client’s supportive working culture. Applicants are shown around a virtual store where they are presented with typical workplace scenarios in the form of Situational Judgement Tests. After this, the applicant ‘meets’ the Store Manager who conducts a ‘virtual interview’ (personality questionnaire). This explores the individual’s typical workplace behaviour and measures personality traits critical to the role.

The bespoke online solution helped the leading retailer to:
