The early identification of high potential employees is central to Shell’s philosophy of developing their own talent over the long-term. Shell’s current HiPo process has been in place for over 30 years and this year is being updated. As part of this project, a wide-ranging review was carried out of the theory and practice of the assessment of potential, drawing from academic research, the practices of other organisations, and vendor offerings. Ben will share the highlights of this review and discuss how this is being used to steer the development of Shell’s next generation of high potential assessment.
